INTERNATIONAL FREERIDE FILM FESTIVAL Chile 2019 invites all to participate in the ski and snowboard video contest IF3 VIDEO QUEST CHILE 2019
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST:
Encourage the community of skiers and snowboarders to create sports audiovisual content in order to promote the culture of snow sports and generate gathering instances for the snow community.
THEME:
The videos must have a main character, who will send the video to IF3, in the video we should see an athlete practicing Ski or Snowboard, Freeride, Freestyle or both. The base of the video is sports content, so most of the shots should be practicing ski or snowboard. It will be sought that the videos promote culture of security and respect on the mountains, therefore we will not accept videos where there is behavior that the jury considers unsafe, violent, vulgar or degrading. All images must have been recorded during the seasons 2018 and / or 2019.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
All skiers and snowboarders with residence in Chile will be able to participate and send all the videos they want, however only one video per person will be selected in each discipline.
CATEGORIES:
The contest will be divided into four categories that are described below:
METHOD OF CREATION AND FORMAT:
The videos can be freely recorded with mobile phones, professional cameras, action cameras, drones or any other devices that the contestant see’s fit. The videos can have edition, however logos of any kind will not be accepted. In addition, if you want to add music, the contestant must possess the rights and or permission to make use of the song used. If there is a dialogue in another language that is not Spanish, it must include subtitles in Spanish.
The video sent by the participant must comply with the following characteristics:
-Maximum duration: 59 seconds
-File in Quicktime readable format
-Minimum resolution: 1080p
-Compressed in H.264
Non-compliance with the method and format will prevent the videos presented of being considered for the awarding and prizes. The contestant will be informed in case this occurs to give him or her the opportunity to send a corrected version.
DEADLINE AND PRESENTATION OF VIDEOS:
JURY AND CRITERIA OF EVALUATION:
The jury will be conformed by the IF3 team, Nick McNutt, other athletes and representatives of brands The North Face, Awka and Pillán.
The criteria of evaluation of the winning videos will be determined by the taste of the judges, who will assign a general score to each video, focusing on the main spirit of the contest, which is, promoting the ski and snowboard culture in Chile. To promote fairness in the evaluation, the judges will not have access to the information of the contestants.
AWARDS:
All participants who are nominated for a prize will receive gifts from our sponsors and will be invited to an exclusive VIP event of IF3 Chile 2019.
There will be a winner for each category and the following prizes will be given:
Additionally and depending on the amount of videos sent, other awards from our sponsors could be awarded if the organization considers relevant such as: Best fall, Best female line, Best story, Best cinematography, among others.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
The videos that do not meet all the requirements specified in these rules will not be accepted. IF3 Chile seeks to enhance the culture of safety and respect in the mountains, IF3 will not be held responsible for accidents or incidents that occur during the filming of the videos for this contest. We encourage all skiers and snowboarders to be very careful, safe, have fun and not try new maneuvers for this contest.
COPYRIGHT:
When participating and registering the videos, the authors of the video authorize IF3 Chile and its media partners to display them on screens, broadcast them through their social networks, web pages and other platforms for as long as the organization deems appropriate.
